Agriculture & Food: Pest Management

Pests destroy gardens, forests and farms, infest homes and businesses and spread devastating diseases. The Caldwell County Center helps homeowners, commercial pesticide applicators and farmers prevent and control pest damage. Pest control is best achieved using an integrated approach. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) uses biological, mechanical and chemical means to control pest problems. The goal of IPM is to produce a healthy crop in an economically efficient and environmentally sound manner.

Asian Tiger Mosquitoes Are Active!

Mosquitoes are unwelcome guests at any outdoor activity. Most mosquitoes are active during the evening and morning hours. However, the asian tiger mosquito is most active between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. This pest is native to Asia and Africa, but in 1985, the pest was discovered in Texas.
