Not only does 4-H look good on a resume, it truly helped me get to where I am today. I would not be as driven, hardworking, responsible, and well-rounded. I have had so many doors open and given so many connections just because of the people I met through 4-H.

Through my 4-H career I have also had the opportunity to do many hands-on “projects”, I showed livestock and horses, and also made project record books to keep up my projects. More young people need the kind of hands-on, youth-led experiences that 4‑H provides. Experiences where they learn by doing, grow from failure, express their ideas and use their influence to drive positive outcomes.

4-H clubs are another great way to help youth grow essential skills needed to be able to work well in the job field or college. In 4-H club members elect officers, conduct their own business, work together on community service activities, meet new friends, and, most importantly, have lots of fun!

I have been involved with 4-H since age five and because of this great organization, I am who I am today. For more information about 4-H, visit the national 4-H website. If you want to learn about ways to get involved with Union County 4-H, contact us at 704.283.3735.
