Class one: Hands-on canning class, Wednesday, August 28, 1–3:30 p.m.

Learn how to safely can during a hands-on class led by Extension Agent Margie Mansure. You will learn how to use both a pressure canner and a boiling water bath.

Class two: Pickle, chutney and kraut making demonstration, Thursday, August 29, 1–3:00 p.m.

Whether you have a productive garden, or just got a great deal at the farmers’ market, pickling is an easy and delicious way to put up the summer bounty. We will demonstrate several types of pickles, including dilly beans, a fruit chutney, and sauerkraut.

Classes will be held at N.C. Cooperative Extension, Caldwell County Center
