The NCACES Board conducted a member survey between December 4, 2020, and January 15, 2021. The survey had 31 responses.

The goals of the survey were to: identify strengths and weaknesses of the organization, determine how we can better communicate with members, and learn more about what Extension Specialists would like to see from the organization.

Networking and comradery were identified as the largest strengths of the organization; while networking and familiarity with Extension Programs were named as the largest benefits of membership. Professional development was also highly ranked in these questions.

Relevancy, membership, and participation were named as the biggest challenges for the organization in the next five years.

Members reported that they prefer email communication and would like a mix of virtual and in-person programs.

For future programming, members indicated that they are interested in learning more about: funding opportunities, Extension Programs from their colleagues, how to collaborate across institutions, how to create new program areas, and how to lead a team. Members suggested curating program topics from membership. Many members indicated that they would be interested in providing information about their programs to share with the organization.
