4-H Project Record Books compete at District Competition

Record keeping has a long-standing history in the 4-H program. Each year, youth track their activities, events, skill development, learning experiences, and much more using the 4-H Project Record Book. In February of each year, the previous year’s book is submitted for county judging. A panel of judges are selected to choose two books per category per age group. The books selected then move on to the District Competition.

Project record books give youth the opportunity to reflect on what they’ve learned and accomplished during the year. It encourages them to set goals, pursue strategies to meet those goals and to overcome obstacles. Project record books document new skills and experiences in a written report that measures each youth’s achievements and growth.

Cloverbuds, youth ages 5-7, complete project record books just like our other 4-H’ers, but their books stay at the county level. Because they are not competitive, they receive feedback on their books in an effort to encourage and improve their work for next year.

Cloverbuds who submitted Project Record Books in 2023 were Alexis Blake, Joanna Fisher, Luke Fisher, Ella Hill, Mason Kowalski and Atlas Rowe.

The following project record books will be moving on to the district level competition.
