Caldwell County 4-H Receives Nationwide Support Following Hurricane Helene

In the wake of Hurricane Helene, Caldwell County 4-H has experienced an extraordinary outpouring of generosity from 4-H Clubs across the United States. From Eastern North Carolina to as far away as Iowa, the extension office has been flooded with packages filled with care and goodwill.

These thoughtfully prepared care packages have included heartfelt cards, toys, craft supplies, blankets, and 4-H-themed merchandise. The dedication and effort of 4-H members nationwide have ensured that the youth of western North Carolina feel remembered and supported during this holiday season.

Among the first donations were games and crafts from the Tucker Family in Eastern North Carolina. Soon after, Bartow County 4-H in Georgia sent several packages brimming with homemade ornaments, more than one hundred holiday cards, and even handmade essential oil sprays—a truly personal touch.

The generosity continued with two large boxes of hand-tied fleece blankets from the Allarro 4-H Club in Michigan.Their hard work ensures that every 4-H  participant attending the upcoming Christmas Crafts event will leave with a cozy blanket to cherish.

Adding to the heartfelt contributions, Poweshiek County 4-H in Montezuma, Iowa, sent three massive boxes filled with toys, crafts, and water bottles, showcasing the remarkable spirit of giving within the 4-H community.

The incredible nationwide support from the 4-H network has been a beacon of hope and kindness for Caldwell County 4-H during a challenging time. This overwhelming response exemplifies the true spirit of community and generosity that defines the holiday season.
