North Carolina Cooperative Extension- Caldwell Center's Seth Nagy received the Caldwell County Heroic Hands award for his dedication and service to Western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene.

After the storm, Seth led the organization and daily operations of the Hurricane Helene agricultural relief hub at the Caldwell County Fairgrounds. He worked alongside the National Guard to complete successful airdrops of emergency agricultural supplies in hard-to-reach areas.“Watching Seth operate during these Hurricane relief efforts was very inspiring. Whether he was coordinating a supply drop or meeting with a farmer who just lost everything, he did it with heart, humility, and laser focus on helping people. His commitment to agriculture and rural communities is unwavering, and our County is stronger because of it”.Heroic Hands is an initiative of the NC Association of County Commissioners and its purpose is to honor those in the public service workforce.
