With more than ¾ of our world’s flowering plants, including fruits and vegetables depending on animal pollinators, it is vital for us to support them! Supporting pollinators can be done in various ways. Whether it is planting native plants that will feed them, providing shelter like bee hotels or bat houses (yes, bats are pollinators too!), or avoiding insecticide use (if able) in your home gardens, we all can play a role in supporting the little critters that make our world go ‘round!
Choosing plants and designing a pollinator garden can be overwhelming, especially if it is your first time. If you are interested in learning more about pollinator gardening and what types of plants to plant, come join us for our monthly First Saturday event happening on Saturday, July 2nd at 9 a.m. out at Unity Park and Community Gardens!
