The guest speaker on the webinar is Matt Bertone and he will be discussing "Delusory Parasitosis". Delusional Parasitosis, Delusional Infestation, or Ekbom's Syndrome is a relatively uncommon human disorder in which sufferers hold a delusional belief they are infested with parasites such as mites, lice, fleas, spiders, worms, bacteria, or other organisms. Although it is seen as an uncommon disorder, Extension Agents and Master Gardener Volunteers may encounter this situation while assisting with the general public with entomological questions. This webinar will help prepare agents and volunteers on how to handle these situations while still helping the client get the proper information and assistance they require.
The live webinar can be streamed online from your own home by visiting: go.ncsu.edu/ppp. The webinar uses the program Blackboard Collaborate and you must follow the prompts and install the program prior to the beginning of the webinar.
