This is a FREE residential household hazardous waste one-day collection event for Caldwell County residents!

You can safely dispose of your household hazardous waste, pesticides, unwanted medications and prescription drugs, and items that need to be shredded, all at no cost to you!

This event is taking place on Saturday, May 21st, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. At STAT, Inc. 2550 Hickory Blvd. Lenoir, NC 28645.

Mark those calendars and start gathering the following items:

Household Cleaners, Paint Products, Automotive Products, Pesticides, Fertilizers, Kerosene, Batteries, Pool Chemicals, Mercury Thermometers, Fluorescent Tubes, etc.

Shred items include: Account numbers, Birthdates, Passwords or PINs, Signatures, Social Security Numbers, Addresses, email addresses or phone numbers, and more!

The County contracts with certified companies to ensure proper handling and security of waste collected.

Please note: Electronics and business waste will not be accepted. Electronics can be disposed of at any County Convenience Site. No trailers allowed. Be prepared to wait due to anticipated high volumes.

This is a great opportunity to make sure those items get properly and safely disposed of!

As always, NEVER dispose of your chemicals down storm drains!
