Spring is here and that means it’s almost farmer’s market time! The Caldwell County Farmer’s Market will be opening on the first Saturday of May in a new location. It will now be located at 308 Blowing Rock Blvd, in the Kimbrell’s parking lot in Lenoir. The schedule for the farmer’s market is every Saturday May-December from 7 a.m. – 1p.m.

Our farmer’s market will be offering a wide variety of locally grown fresh fruits and in-season produce, eggs, baked goods, and crafts.

If this will be your first time visiting the Caldwell County Farmer’s Market, here are a few tips:

  1. Know what’s in season. Before you go to the farmers market, it’s important to know what is in season, so you know what items are freshest and at the best price. Visit this article on our county website to see what’s in season.
  2. Don’t be afraid to try new things! There is a large variety of items, and if there’s something you don’t recognize, you can ask the farmer about it. Often, growers have great suggestions on how to prepare produce items they offer.
  3. Shop early for the best selection. There may be limited or no items available at the end of the market day.
  4. Be sure that you bring your own bags for convenient carrying.
  5. Bring cash – small bills – for simple transactions.
  6. Make sure to bring along a cooler in case you purchase items that need to be kept cool, or if you run errands after the market.
