Bring the whole family out for a fun, flavorful, and educational celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day at Unity Park and Community Garden on Saturday, April 19th!

From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the park will be buzzing with activity as local organizations, educators, and volunteers come together to highlight gardening, environmental stewardship, and community connection.

The City of Lenoir and the Unity Park and Community Garden team invite residents to enjoy live music, guided garden tours, youth activities, and hands-on exhibits. Guests can enjoy a plate of six BBQ’d wings for $5 or a fresh veggie quesadilla for $5, both prepared on-site by the Lenoir Epicurean Select Society (LESS), and participants can take home free native plants as part of a shared effort to reintroduce native species into our local landscapes.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m. will officially open the park’s new Teaching and Learning Pavilion, followed by a full day of engagement, including talks on clean energy, soil conservation, and pollinator habitats. Music lovers can catch live performances by Caldwell Jam, Morganton Old Souls, and Blackberry Jam throughout the day.

With food, fun, and free plants, there’s something for everyone to enjoy—while learning more about how to care for our planet right here in Caldwell County.
